Northrop Grumman Corporation · employee perspective

Northrop Grumman retirement planning starts with your actual plan lane.

A savings account, an older pension record and other legacy contribution arrangements are not interchangeable. Establish which programs your service and hire history actually support before building an income picture.

Build income from the benefits you actually hold

01

Eligibility passport

Identify the plan and employment history.

Northrop Grumman’s public plan materials describe a Savings Plan alongside programs associated with particular employment histories, including legacy plans closed to new participants. Most pension plans were closed to new hires according to the company’s proxy. Hire date, predecessor employer, plan participation and collective-bargaining status can change which lane applies.

Begin with plan names on your statements and any administrator-issued pension estimate. Do not project a pension, special employer contribution or benefit formula simply from the Northrop Grumman name.

02

Income blueprint

Stack only verified sources of retirement income.

An income plan can stack a confirmed pension benefit if one exists, actual Savings Plan balances, Social Security assumptions and investments outside work. The Savings Plan filing describes multiple contribution sources and match provisions that depend on employee group and service.

For each source, check vesting, start date, distribution choices and survivor needs before modeling household cash flow. A public plan report cannot substitute for your benefit statement or a personal retirement-income analysis.

03

Company-stock lens

Separate stock exposure from executive awards.

The Savings Plan filing identifies an NG Stock Fund that invests primarily in Northrop Grumman shares. If you hold it, count that exposure alongside any personally owned shares before deciding how concentrated your portfolio is.

The proxy also reports equity awards and nonqualified arrangements for named executives. Those are not evidence that a typical employee receives an RSU, has an ESPP or can join a deferred-compensation program. Use individual award documents if any exist.

Before a conversation

What to bring into focus

  1. Which lane does my plan record show: Savings Plan only, pension, RAC, NEC, or closed Litton FSSP, and how do my hire, rehire, transfer, predecessor-employer, and union records affect it?
  2. Which match tier, employer contribution, and vesting rule applies to me, and must I be employed on the last day of the plan year for an employer contribution?
  3. If I have a pension, what are its plan name, formula, earliest and unreduced start dates, payment forms, survivor options, and current administrator-issued estimate?
  4. How much of my retirement and taxable wealth is in the NG Stock Fund or other Northrop Grumman shares, and how does that concentration affect an income plan?
  5. Do I personally have a written stock-award or deferred-compensation agreement that needs tax and legal review before action?
